These were diesel powered.

The second generation came into the scene in 1983 with the entrance of Golf MK2, which had expanded interior exterior as well as the wheel base .Later on there were facelifts hence second generation Volkswagen Jetta in 1984 and Golf Syncro in 1985.

The third generation comprised of Golf MK3 which came into the market in 1991 with a new diesel engine. Later on in 1993 Golf estate joined the market. Other brands of this generation include Cabriolet, Golf Cabrio and VW Vetto.

Golf MK4 was introduced in 1997, thereafter in 1998 there was the entrance of notchback version this was the VW Bora/VW Jetta. In 2002 Golf R32 came into the market later on Golf V6 and Bora HS. More details in the video review.

Golf MK5 made its entry in 2003 with a new marketing strategy. This fifth generation cars include GLI sedan GTI hatchback, Golf plus and VW Golf GTI W12 which debuted in 2007 with a modified engine and automated gearbox. The strength of the car body look in the crash test.

In 2008 there was the entrance of Golf MK 6 which was more sophisticated. In 2010 Mk Jetta came into the market, it has a manual transmission. In 2009 there was the diesel engine Golf R. This generation had top safety cars.
